Chinese New Year (the Year of the Rabbit) begins on the 3rd with the Aquarius New Moon positioned very close to active Mars. It’s a new cycle that comes in quite forcefully.

This is an extreme time. We see things in black and white, dark and light, good and bad, either/or. It’s all part of the Aries-Libra opposition with Pluto in Capricorn intensifying the polarity. The lighthouse is such a reassuring presence on the coastline.

I have to share with you 2 very special people who I met by chance in New York (but we all know there are no accidents!)

Davide and Fabrizio set up the most amazing hair salon, the Davide Torchio salon, at 954 Lexington Avenue and have created a fabulous, chic space and salon, which is such a magnet for the creative types that abound in NYC.

The minute I walked into their salon on New Year’s Eve I felt immediately at home and very soon they showed me their horoscope charts which naturally they keep to hand and we talked about the year to come.

Davide is the most remarkable and talented stylist (he’s so in demand across the US that he practically lives in the air – which is fine for an Aquarian), Fabrizio the best and most charming Libran front of house.

They are soul mates to me – we immediately fell into that easy shorthand way of connecting and they have become my New York family. For anyone in need of tlc for their tresses and souls they are fabulous.

With all the planetary tussles going on – Saturn opposing Jupiter and Uranus with Venus in between and then the Sun getting mixed up with Neptune its not much wonder we’ve got a coalition government in the UK.

As the impact of this dawns on everyone perhaps its as well to remember that oppositions themselves create TENSION. So with Cameron the Libran – known for diplomacy – fronting the thing coupled with a bit of Capricornian Clegg ambition thrown in this could be a good way to take things forward.

In our own lives just now – its bound to be a time of feeling pushed and pulled around. We need to look for our own coalitions…

My good friend Shelley Ackerman

One person and special friend, the brilliant astrologer Shelley Ackerman has just guided me into my new nest in New York City. 

I’ve known Shelley now for nigh on 12 years – it must be our Jupiter return!  She’s a Libra, she has the voice of an angel and you can hear her on her blogpost radio show discussing all matters metaphysical and astrological.
